Dies auch richtig vermitteln zu können ist der Auftrag, den ein modernes und solides Bildungswesen erfüllen muss. Um das zu erreichen leistet die Royal Döner Stiftung ihren Beitrag. Wir kümmern uns um die Qualitätsentwicklung von Schulen und Unterricht, Reformen von Ausbildungen für Fachkräfte, Förderungen von begabten jungen Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund und wir nehmen des gesamten Prozess der Bildung in den Blick, von der frühkindlichen Bildung über Schulen, Ausbildung, Begabtenförderung, Hochschule bis zum lebenslangen lernen.
In der Wissenschaft und Forschung immer exzellent Arbeit leisten und Dinge zu ermöglichen, die bisher niemand in Betracht gezogen hat. Das ist die Aufgabe der Royal Döner Stiftung sich gestellt um junge Menschen zu fördern im Bereich der Wissenschaft und Forschung. Diesem Ziel dienen zahlreiche Programme und Projekte und deshalb fördern wir das Interesse von jungen Menschen an Naturwissenschaften und Geisteswissenschaften, um so langfristig des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchs zu sichern.
Künstlerische Zusammenarbeit verbindet Kulturen und die Kultur verbindet Nationen. Über Ländergrenzen und über Jahrhunderte hinweg hat die Kultur in ihrer Geschichte grosse gemeinsame Traditionen und Epochen begründet. Wir sind überzeugt, dass die künstlerische Zusammenarbeit von Menschen unterschiedlicher kultureller und sprachlicher Herkunft für die Schweiz, die Türkei und der ganzen Welt ein wichtiges Mittel der Verständigung ist. Wir fördern Beiträge verschiedener Nationen und Kulturkreisen und wollen Jugendliche unterschiedlicher Herkunft für Kunst und Kultur begeistern.

As Zeynel Demir arrived at the end of a long, not always straight and certainly not simple journey to Winterthur in Switzerland, he could not imagine what his future would be like. Today, he is the most successful manufacturer of kebab products in the country. His company generates sales of 40 million Swiss Francs per year and has over 100 employees, most of them from Eastern Anatolia (Tunceli / Dersim).
Despite his success Zeynel Demir has not forgotten why he had to start fresh so far away from his country of origin. Moreover, he does not fail to appreciate the help he received by others, that gave him the opportunity to realize his abilities and ideas. These experiences shaped a man to whom offering help is natural.
But Zeynel Demir also knows that aid alone cannot change everything. Equally important are initiative and the will to change the world and oneself for the better. This includes the ability to encourage their own skills through education and knowledge. He has been shaped by his own experience and has great respect for people who look ahead without losing sight of the past. It is his aim to help these people, because for him they belong to the family, which is why he always lends an open ear for their problems.
With this foundation Zeynel Demir will give children the opportunity to receive and preserve education and knowledge. They can strengthen their individual skills without giving up their deep roots in their own culture. This creates a strong base and expands the horizon at the same time.
Those who know their own roots and traditions, also have the strength to start a peaceful and productive dialog with a different culture.
Zeynel Demir was born on 18.03.1957 in Egripinar / Ovacik. Even in his early years at school he learned that neither the Mother Language (Zazaki) nor his culture would bring him a good future in his home country.
In 1985, he first had to leave his home village, his five siblings and his parents. He even had to leave his country. He and his wife could only bare to take the most essential things with them, as they fled. In order to reach Switzerland they had to cross Greece and Germany. After a long asylum procedure he finally received the definitive residence and work permit.
In 1993 Zeynel Demir and his former business partner Celebi founded a neighborhood shop for Turkish food. After the business partners separated in 1999, Zeynel Demir pushed the growth of his company with great persistence and a lot of hard work. Meanwhile, the Royal Döner AG is one of the markets leaders in the field of kebab production. Zeynel Demir is the employer of more than 100 employees and runs a company with an annual turnover of around 40 million Swiss francs, as well as a nationwide network of business contacts and sales channels.
To Zeynel Demir the success of his business is also an obligation to share his wealth in the form of a foundation. As a caring employer and helpful compatriot the connection between him and his country of origin is never lost, even if he is not allowed to step foot on Turkish ground due to his political involvements in the past.
Solid education is an indispensable base that he has given to his two children along the way. Through the establishment of the foundation he intends to help other children and young adults, individually or in the form of larger projects, to a good start into a successful life.
Together with her husband and their children she moved to Switzerland and worked several years in the local government as a guardian secretary in the field of social services. Her multilingualism was always an advantage. She mastered the languages Kurdish, Turkish and German. She also has a good understanding of English and French.
It was her own decision to work for Royal Döner AG. In addition to her work as a business lawyer she has great respect for the social commitment of her employer. The thought of a foundation to support education and knowledge projects in her country of origin is shared by her with equally great dedication. As a member of the Board she will work to ensure that the objectives of the foundation will be implemented within the meaning of the benefactor. It is her goal to realize as many educational projects for groups and individuals as possible. It is her belief that the promotion of these projects is an important contribution to the future of the younger generation and those who will come after them.
Passing on knowledge and education is a passion that has marked Hüseyin Sevinc since his youth. He was born 1956 in Tunceli-Ovacik, where he also completed his school education. After his four-year education to a primary school teacher Mr. Sevinc initially worked as a teacher in different villages in Tunceli. For political reasons he was not allowed to teach children anymore and had to leave Turkey for his own safety in 1984. He then came to Switzerland, whose citizenship he has since 1999. Today, he is married and has two grown children.
In Switzerland, Hüseyin Sevinc has continued to work as a teacher and gained further qualifications in the field of accounting. While he works full time in the private sector, the passing on of knowledge is always a personal concern to him. Multiple times per week he teaches children in their mother tongue and gives them a feeling for the importance of knowledge and education. His involvement in the Foundation is an important part of his social responsibility towards children and young people.
